Tackling inequality in enterprise one tote at a time
As a proud social enterprise we use our profits to train the next generation through our award-winning Barefoot in Business program. This 8 part masterclass trains students in the basics of business and enables them to curate and sell their own Carry It Forward Collections to fundraise for their schools.
How It Works
Our award-winning program is free for schools and youth groups to take part in. We fund it through Carry It Forward bag sales and sponsorship from individuals and organizations who share our passion for education and equality.
As a school, all you need to do is register your interest. Then, we'll source the funding for you and provide all the necessary materials to deliver the program at a time and pace that suits you and your students best.

What is the age range for this program?
We've designed this program for students aged 8 and above.
How many students can take part at a time?
We've delivered this program with teams of 2 to 32 so there's no limit to the number of students in each business. For best results, we do recommend teams of up to 15 however you’re welcome to split your class into two teams so that everyone can be involved.
How do we select the students?
Some schools have created “Apprentice” style application processes while others have made it an exclusive opportunity for all of the girls in one year group. Ultimately, it’s about selecting the students who you believe will get the most out of this opportunity and our team will be on hand at every step of the way if you’d like us to help with selection.
We've never done anything like this before. How will we know what to do?
We provide everything you need to deliver the program at a time and pace that suits you best. This includes guides and worksheets for each session and a 30 piece tote bag collection for your team to sell.
How is the project delivered?
This an 8 x 1-hour virtual workshop program which you can run on whichever day and time suits you best and in whichever format you prefer. This can be as an in-class activity or a weekly club for specially selected students - it’s entirely up to you. We’ve designed the course so that it can be tailored to your individual school and student requirements and delivered in bite-size sessions or as intensive activity. If you're unsure which format to go for, our team will be on hand as soon as you sign up to help plan the program delivery and determine the best approach for you and your students.
